Colonial sets cautious schedule
 | | Tibet residency: touch of exotic | 24.APR.08 Returning performers, filmed opera presentations, scripted theme comedies and international groups will highlight the Colonial Theatre’s 2008-2009 schedule.
Executive director David Fleming unveiled the South Street theater’s schedule this week, emphasizing fare expected to be popular and economical.
“Our first season was fairly experimental, not too expansive,” he said. “The second season pushed it quite a bit further. When September, October, November came around, I could see that the economy was softening and decided to position this season halfway between the first and second season.”
The resulting lineup emphasizes the familiar, sprinkles in the exotic and aims to keep costs affordable for both audiences and the theater. [more] | Hibbard offers renewed hope
